19 Arrested In Dawn Drugs Raids In Westminster

Met Police have arrested 19 suspected drug dealers, some as young as 14-years-old, in dawn raids across Westminster.Picture: PA
200 police officers were involved in the operation, targetting addresses across the borough including the Churchill Gardens and Warwick estate in Pimlico, after local residents raised concerns.
18 men and one woman were arrested for possessing or supplying Class A and B drugs, and remain in custody at a central London police station.Officers recovered mobile phones, money and what's thought to be cannabis from various addresses.
Acting Detective Chief Inspector Philip Grindell said: “Today’s series of warrants and arrests are as a direct result of concerns we have had from residents and we are committed to listening to the local community and making Westminster a safer borough for people to live and work in."
Police will stay in the area carrying out weapons searched later today, following a recent spate of stabbings across the borough.
