21st September: Lord Ashdown Defends the Coalition

Nick Clegg is to defend his Party's role in the Government's economic strategy after the International Monetary Fund downgraded Britain's growth forecast.

Closing the Liberal Democrat conference the deputy Prime Minister is is due to say his party will not change course on spending cuts but can do more to encourage growth.


The Treasury is denying claims that its rethinking spending plans and wants to pump another five billion pounds into the economy.

Former Lib Dem Party Leader Lord Ashdown spoke to Nick Ferrari live from the conference.
