The interview week and three casualties. So Alan Carr in a wig, the bitch and the village idiot (Lorraine, Debra and James) have all gone. And I’m probably being a bit unfair because they all entertained as characters and added to the process.

By saying goodbye, Sir Alan has missed out on Lorraine’s intuition. But to be fair I don’t think that she could have fitted into his organisation. Debra was simply too abrasive and too much of a risk and James too much of a joker. Oh and guess what. At 23 Debra too young and at 36 and 31 Lorraine and James were simply too old. It always happens.

Did Sir Alan pick the best two candidates to put into the final? Yes. Best of an average bunch, I’m afraid.

But it was certainly an interesting episode. Why? Because we learnt once again that writing a good CV, making sure you tell the truth and making sure you think before you answer questions and identifying what the interviewer is looking for.

And what about “You’re Fired!” this week? James Caan is clearly a fine business operator. Jo Brand a comedienne of great calibre and Jane Moore? Not a clue. Why is she invited onto these things?

I simply don’t understand what people think Debra is good at either? She’s way too aggressive for my liking. And just because she can sell.. it doesn’t mean that she’s a good business person. With moulding and experience – perhaps.

And onto Lorraine. I have been rude throughout the series about poor Lorraine. I did actually warm to some of her personality traits. But I am afraid that she didn’t have the ability to connect with people around her. Finding out what exactly it is that she can do, well I’m still at a loss.

And James. Poor James. Funny? Yes? But really, he clearly missed an opportunity to put himself forward. He blew it. His comments, CV and question answering abilities were really poor. Sadly he didn’t sell himself well. But ultimately, I think James is a corporate man and not an entrepreneur.

So what of the finalists? Kate is very polished but I am going to back Yasmina. I think she has more skill, more personality and more potential. Let’s see if Sir Alan agrees with me!

The final on Sunday will see the teams create and market a new box of chox. Yum!

Don’t forget to download the podcast. This time our showbiz editor, Jo Parkerson, LBC Radio presenter, Cristo, Barry from Watford and the man behind the fabulous “Bloody Apprentice” will join me. Oh and next week? My guests will include the one and only, Margaret Mountford.
