Tuesday 12th August 2014
A 27-year-old man from east London has been jailed for two years and seven months for terrorism offences.
Afsor Ali from Bethnal green was found guilty at the Old Bailey of possessing terrorist material after police found files on his computer explaining how to participate in Jihad.
Ali was arrested in March when trying to board a Eurostar train to Paris using someone else’s passport whilst he was on bail.
Judge Charles Wide said: “It's absolutely clear you are an extremist and you do support terrorism."
Afsor had previously posted extremist videos on YouTube, including threats of a terrorist attack on the royal wedding.
