Boris Like A Tube Pickpocket, Says Ken
Tuesday 10th January 2012
Ken Livingstone has accused Boris Johnson of picking the public's pockets in public transport.
The former Mayor has accused his successor of taking £1,000 from the average Londoner due to bus, train and tube fare rises.
Mr Livingstone said: "Last week's fare increases were completely unnecessary whilst TfL builds up hundreds of millions of surplus funds which are currently sitting unused in the bank. Yet rather than give some money back through a fare cut, Boris Johnson continues to pick the pockets and purses of Londoners."Mayor Boris Johnson says his rival's price cuts on London transport are unachievable and will have a severe impact on the running of the capital.
