Cameron: Alliance with Lib Dems would be hard
Wednesday 5th May 2010
David Cameron told LBC that forming an alliance with the Liberal Democrats would be difficult.
Speaking to Nick Ferrari from his Conservative Campaign Bus, Cameron criticised the Liberal Democrat plans for an immigration amnesty, saying illegal immigrants should be forced to return to their home country.
And the Conservative leader said that this fundamental difference of opinion meant he was reluctant to form a coalition - with them or any other party - and a Tory majority is the best way forward for the country.
Having campaigned overnight, Cameron said he did not want to waste a second in order to secure an Election Victory on Thursday and that it would be worth staying up overnight if it meant we didn't have to suffer another five years of Gordon Brown.
Cameron was on his way to Sherwood Forest and said that in his campaigning, he was even trying to turn Robin Hood from green to blue!
