Can You Tell The Sex of a Pigeon From Its Appearance
Question
Can you tell the sex of a pigeon from its appearance?
Paul, Croydon
Answer
Name: Moosa, Walthamstow
Qualification: Watched wildlife programmes
Yes, look at the necks. Male tends to have a thicker neck.
**Definitive**
Name: Phil, Ryslip
Qualification: Used to keep racing pigeons
Not really. If you run your hand down its breastbone there is a gap. If it is big enough for an egg to come out then it is a female, if not it's a male. You have to have two together to use the neck theory.
