Central Middlesex A&E Could Close By June
Friday 22nd February 2013
One of the four London Accident and Emergency departments - which are to be downgraded to Urgent Care Centres - is believed to be closing earlier than planned.
Central Middlesex Hospital is believed to be closing it's A&E in June.
Ealing, Hammersmith and Charing Cross hospitals are also due to have their departments downgraded but it was to take at least three years.
Labour MP for Hammersmith Andy Slaughter told LBC 97.3 it won't give campaigners a chance to appeal.
He said: "The last thing we want to see is some closing in the short-term for so-called operational reasons, which effectively achieves what the local NHS trust and the government want to do but without the proper scrutiny or the proper process to go through.
"I would ask the hospital trust as well as the NHS to honour the pledge that they have made to keep the A&Es open until the full appeals process has been gone through."
