Clean Ups Organised Following Riots
The local community is being urged to band together to restore London after three nights of violence and vandalism on the capital's streets.
The worst rioting in decades took place across London and beyond - with Birmingham and Bristol also experiencing looting and destruction.
In scenes similar to Canada - where a sports game led to riots on the streets - local communities are being called on to band together and clean-up the aftermath - with several groups being set up .
Volunteers are being asked to bring gloves, heavy duty sacks, brooms, brushes and marker pens to the various operations.
Most of the events are being organised by Twitter and Facebook - look for the hashtag #riotcleanup to find the latest events and updates or follow http://twitter.com/#!/riotcleanup or http://twitter.com/#!/CleanupRiot
