Clegg Is The Most Trusted Leader To Babysit
Thursday 7th August 2014
Nick Clegg has been voted the most trusted political leader to babysit.
In the exclusive poll for LBC, Mumsnet found that Nick Clegg received 58% of the votes, with David Cameron coming second and Ed Milliband third.
Just 2% trusted Nigel Farage to babysit their children.
There was a more serious side to the polling as well, as parents revealed serious concern over childcare costs.
A survey of over 1,000 Mumsnet users shows that childcare costs remain a serious concern for many parents.
Over a third had cut down on food or energy use to allow them to meet childcare bills. 10% had borrowed from family or friends, while 8% had resorted to using credit cards.
Mumsnet Founder Justine Roberts said: "Despite all the political focus on childcare, this survey shows that parents still struggle with costs.
"Childcare should be viewed as a key part of the country's infrastructure, helping us compete in the global economy.
"It shouldn't be that people end up in huge debt, or cutting down on essentials like food and heating, to pay for it."
