Londoners were struggling to get into work this morning after the A40 was flooded following torrential rain.

The road was closed at Hillingdon Circus after rain left the carriageway completely flooded.
Images showed cars fighting their way through the flooded road before it was closed shortly after 8am. The image above, taken by Emily Finn, shows the Hillingdon underpass completely underwater.
Delays are stretching from the Master Brewer back to the M40 and from the Greenford Flyover.
There are also issues on public transport, with the Metropolitan Line also suffering from flooding.

The London Fire Brigade wrote that west London had 'taken a battering' from the weather on Monday morning.
#Ruislip has taken a battering from above this morning. We're still attending a number flooding including a house on Spring Drive in Pinner.— London Fire Brigade (@LondonFire) July 28, 2014
