Did the apostles have surnames?
Question
I've always been curious about the 12 apostles. Did they have surnames and why did they have British names?
Casey, Norbury
Answer
** Definitive **
Name: John, South Bank
Qualification: Seven years of a Roman-Catholic Grammar School
Answer: Most names are either where you came from - such as Jesus of Nazareth - or in the case of Judas Iscariot, he was a Secari, which was a tribe, hence his name. So Andrew, Peter etc are Andrew of somewhere. When they translated the bible into Latin, they changed the names to Latin names to reinforce some of Jesus's sayings.
