Disability and London's Public Transport System: The Truth
With six months until the 2012 Olympic Games - when tens of thousands of people with disabilities will be among those flooding to the capital - LBC decided to test the reality of travelling around the capital with a disability.
Reporter Declan Harvey was joined by actress and disability rights campaigner Julie Fernandez to see first hand what it is like travelling around London in a wheelchair. To get an accurate idea of how much harder it is for someone with a disability LBC's Chloe Aust did the same journey as an able-bodied person. The idea was to travel from LBC's office in Leicester Square to Kings Cross - as if to meet someone coming in to London from elsewhere - then to Liverpool Street to get some lunch at Spitalfields before heading to Stratford - the home of the Olympic Park.
