Do dogs give blood?

I was watching a vet programme and they gave a dog a blood transfusion. Where do they get the blood from? I’ve never seen a dog giving blood!

Answer: Dogs can give blood. The vet can ask you whether your dog can donate blood. Only recently has the law changed to allow blood donated from dogs to be stored. Both my dogs are blood donors.
