Duplicity

duplicity.jpgTony Gilroy is a talented chap. After scripting the three Bourne films, he wrote and directed the Oscar-winning 'Michael Clayton' and followed it up with this modern-day spy thriller set in the world of corporate counter-intelligence.

The story is exciting, with clever timeline jumps and surprising plot twists; the script is witty; and the score is funky.  But Gilroy's masterstroke was reuniting Clive Owen and Julia Roberts on-screen. The pair have great chemistry and the deceitful relationship between their characters is the best thing about this movie.

That and the slo-mo fight between Paul Giamatti and Tom Wilkinson during the opening credits!
