Haringey Face Council Tax ChallengeTuesday 5th February 2013
Haringey Council is facing a High court challenge over a decision that could see some of its poorest residence paying council tax.
From April local authorities are being asked to introduce their own council tax support scheme - but with a ten percent cut in funding.
Reverend Paul Nicholson is backing the campaign against the measures and has told us he doesn't think local people were properly consultated.
"A failure to inform all the residents of how difficult its going to be for benefit claimants - you're taking money out of their extremely inadequate benefits - I think it would have been far more likely that all of the residents would have opposed 20% council tax."
