Health Minister Heckler Tells LBC Government Must Meet Doctors
Tuesday 21st February 2012
A woman who heckled the health secretary over NHS reforms has told LBC 97.3 he must meet with health professionals to listen to their concerns or the most vulnerable people will suffer.
June Hautot confronted Andrew Lansley ahead of a meeting outside Dowing Street, which opponents of the reforms, such as the royal college of nursing, claim they were excluded from.
The government insists the Health and Social Care Bill has been changed in response to criticism from medical professionals.
Mrs Hautot had a very simple message for the Prime Minister: "Have the courage to take a u-turn and say we made a big mistake here. They know deep down they made a big mistake here but they don't want egg on their faces."
The pensioner has told Nick Ferrari the government is ignoring the fears of Doctors and Nurses. She said: "We would like to meet with health professionals to see where the changes could be made.
"We're not saying there shouldn't be any changes. We're saying stop privatisation as the most vulnerable will suffer."
