Health Minister Andrew Lansley is set to announce his NHS reforms, as the service bids to  save around £20bn as part of the government cuts.

Lansley told Nick that with 1.3million NHS employees, including 400,000 nurses and nearly 40,000 GPs, and with millions of patients seen every week, a wide spectrum of views of their plans was expected.

But Emily Thornberry, working under the Shadow Health Minister, voiced her concern over the effect of the cuts on the NHS.
