This startling video shows what happened when an Uber driver dragged a taxi driver at speed down a street in Toronto.

As in London, taxi drivers in the Canadian city are angry at a failure to regulate Uber, saying the private hire company is threatening their livelihoods.

During the latest protest, a taxi driver at City Hall saw an Uber driver pull up at traffic lights nearby. He began a verbal confrontation with the man in the car, who then drove off.

The taxi driver grabs onto the windscreen but the Uber doesn't slow down at first, dragging him around 20m down the road.

A spokesman for the Taxi Workers Association admitted that the taxi driver's behaviour was "unacceptable", but claimed it was a result of their frustration.
