Hurt Locker wins six Oscars - See all winning trailers
The Hurt Locker was the big winner in the 82nd Academy Awards, picking up six awards.
The Iraq War drama, centred on a wayward bomb diffusal expert, picked up Best Film, as well as Best Director for Kathryn Bigelow, the first woman to win the award.
Bigelow beat her ex James Cameron for the Oscar, while The Hurt Locker's six outshone Avatar's three trophies.
The bookies' favourites won all the acting categories as Jeff Bridges scooped Best Actor Crazy Heart and Sandra Bullock win Best Actress for her role in The Blind Side. Christoph Waltz's Nazi officer in Inglourious Basterds won Best Supporting Actor while Mo'nique won Best Supporting Actress for Precious: Based On The Novel Push By Sapphire.
It meant Britain's best acting nominees and main Oscar hopes Colin Firth, Dame Helen Mirren and starlet Carey Mulligan went home empty-handed.
