If two sets of identical twins had children, would they look the same?
Question
If you get two sets of identical twins, one set male and one set female, and they got married to each other, would their children all look the same?
Terry, Hackney
Answer
** Definitive **
Name: Kurt, Apsley
Qualification: I’m soon to be the father of twins
Answer: My twins are going to be non-identical twins and the only way you can get identical twins is if the same egg is fertilized and it splits. So the two different pregnancies in two different women means it cannot cause identical twins. Non-identical twins are two separate eggs being fertilized at the same time. There is no reason they would look any more identical than any normal siblings.
