10.00 - Of course, our coverage doesn't end here, 12 hours after polls close. We'll bring you the best coverage of the election throughout the day, including attempting to answer the obvious question: What next?
09.55 - So, after seven trips to all corners of London, Nick's time on the Election Battle Bus is coming to an end. But with a hung parliament - and the possibility of another election towards the end of the year - maybe he'll need to park it in a garage and bring it out again in a few months time.
09.50 - Lord Digby-Jones, top businessman and Independent Peer, told Nick that he Gordon Brown had the right to try to form a government as the incumbent Prime Minister, but that it's not right for him to do so when his party is so far behind the Conservatives.
09.48 - Nigel Farage, whose UKIP didn't manage to win a seat, says: "I'm a bit bashed up, but I'm following the election on TV."
09.31 - Hung Parliament Confirmed
We have a hung parliament. With only 37 seats remaining, the Conservatives can now no longer reach the magic number of 326 and therefore we will have a hung parliament.
09.18 - Turnout was 65%, 4% higher than the election in 2005. But it was not as high as some of the elections in the 1990s. Why weren't people voting?
09.14 - Another gain for the Conservatives, taking Hendon from Labour. That takes them to 29 - still a good deal short of the 326 needed for a majority.
09.10 - Theresa May, the latest heavy-hitter on the Battle Bus, told Nick that the overwhelming result of the election was that Labour lost it, even though the Conservatives failed to reach an overall majority.
08.51 - Glenda Jackson certainly did her bit for Labour, but she did admit that her party had taken "a bit of a drubbing" at the polls.
08.44 - The surprises are still coming in, almost 11 hours since the polls closed. The Conservatives won Watford, ahead of the Lib Dems and the incumbent Labour MP.
08.40 - Phil Kitromilides was our reporter in Hampstead, who was expecting to be home in bed by 5am. It's after 8.30 and he's still reporting live to Nick Ferrari!
08.36 -The Hampstead seat was quite remarkable. Gelnda won for Labour just 42 votes ahead of the Conservatives' Chris Philp. The top three candidates were all less than 1,000 votes apart - the closest seat in the country.
08.27 - It's a big hold for Glenda Jackson. She was down in third place at times in the polls, but she has "held" the newly-created Hampstead & Kilburn seat.
08.11 - We're still waiting for the declaration of the recount at Hampstead & Kilburn - it's going to be close between the three main parties.
07.37 - Shadow Home Secretary Chris Grayling has just hopped on to the bus and said he would be happy to serve the country in any way he could, but he believed that with more than 50 counts remaining, the Conservatives could still gaina significant victory.
07.27 - So this is what happens next. Gordon Brown, as Prime Minister, has the right to attempt to form a government via coalition. He will be speaking to a number of the smaller parties to attempt this - and despite the Lib Dems' disappointing result, they could still be kingmakers.
07.06 - Another major Labour candidate has gone. Tony McNulty has lost his Harrow East seat to the Conservatives.
06.59 - The London highlights:
- Conservatives Zac Goldsmith ousted Lib Dem sitting MP Susan Kramer in Richmond Park.
- But Tory poster boy Shaun Bailey failed to win in Hammersmith.
- Esther Rantzen split the Tory vote in Luton South to allow Labour victory.
- Controversial MP Ann Keen lost her seat in Brentford.
- There's a recount at Hampstead & Kilburn after Conservative candidate received 16 fewer votes than Labour's Glenda Jackson.
06.42 - If you're just waking up, here are the main headlines:
- Forecasts suggest the country's headed for a hung parliament.
- The Conservatives are projected to win 309 seats, Labour 259 and the Lib Dems 54 with no party having an overall majority.
- Labour big-hitters Charles Clarke and Jacqui Smith have lost their seat.
- The Lib Dems admit they have been disappointed with their performance.
- The Green Party have their first MP.
- The BNP failed to make significant ground and lost out to Labour in Barking.
06.37 - Clegg admits to "bitter dismay" at the performance of the Liberal Democrats in the election.
06.33 - A win for Nick Clegg! In his constituency at least. The Lib Dem's have not had a great night, but he wins his seat very comfortably.
06.28 - The fascinating Hampstead & Kilburn seat could still go one of three ways and we're not expected to hear that result for a while yet. We've instructed our reporter to put another few pounds in the meter.
06.15 - A new forecast suggests the Conservatives will end up with 309, Labour 259 and the Lib Dems just 54. That means a Lab-Lib coalition would not reach the magic number of 326 for an overall majority.
06.00 - Nick Ferrari is back after a (very brief) sleep and is broadcasting his Breakfast Show live from the Battle Bus in the heart of the action in Westminster. See the photos of Nick in the bus.
05.59 - Iain Dale winds up his heroic all-night coverage of the election and hands over to Nick Ferrari in his Battle Bus. Stay tuned for more up-to-the-minute news!
05.53 - Conservative candidate Zac Goldsmith beats Liberal Democrat candidate Susan Kramer to secure the seat for Richmond Park. He managed an 8% swing to create a 4,000 majority.
05.51 - The result of the night? The Green Party send their first ever MP to Westminster after winning Brighton Pavilion. Caroline Lucas edged out Labour by 1,100 votes to secure the historic victory.
05.48 - Conservatives hold Arundell & South Downs and Beckenham. Labour hold Lancashire West, while the Liberal Democrats hols St Austell & Newquay.
05.42 - It's not a huge surprise, but Lib-Dem Shadow Chancellor Vince Cable holds on to his seat in Twickenham. A hot favourite to become Chancellor should a coalition deal be brokered.
05.38 - Despite the result being far from clearcut, Labour MP David Blunkett breaks ranks with the controversial statement, "Labour has lost, Tories have won, the Tories should rule".
![]()
05.34 - Brighton Kemptown goes from Labour to Conservatives in another close result.
05.29 - Against the odds, Labour candidate Andy Slaughter holds on to Hammersmith. A key target for the Tories, throws another question mark over the final result.
![]()
05.25 - Two key gains for the Conservatives as they win Colne Valley and Bristol North West. The wins are announced as Gordon Brown heads to Labour HQ. It could be a difficult few hours for him.
![]()
05.19 - A key gain for the Conservatives, taking Hove from Labour, although the majority was smaller than expected, meaning Labour may hold others in the area.
05.14 - You've only got 45 minutes to see what's going on in the LBC Studios on the Studio Webcams. Take a look now.
05.12 - While watching Hazel Blears, Iain Dale opines "she always reminds me of a chipmunk".
05.11 - Good hold for Labour, with Gisella Stuart holding off the Conservatives in Birmingham Edgbaston - one of the main seats that the Tories wanted if they were to get an overall majority. Looks like they will fall 10 or so seats short.
05.05 - It feels like Nick Ferrari only just left the office, but he'll be back on his Battle Bus in less than an hour to present his final show from the Election Battle Bus.
05.00 - Seven hours after polls close and we're still not much closer to finding out the result of this election. With the Tories on 219 seats, they need another 107 to get a majority. Predictions are that they will fall just short.
04.56 - On Twitter, "Lembit Opek" is a popular trending topic. I guess no one will ever know how to spell his name now.
04.55 - Ed Balls: "New Labour is renewed and are fighting on."
![]()
04.52 - Former Home Secretary Charles Clarke has indeed lost his seat. The Liberal Demcrats won the very tight three-way battle.
04.50 - Ed Balls has held on to his "tight" seat with a majority of 1,000. Although Iain is unclear whether that is best news for Labour or the Conservative Party!
![]()
04.41 - A big gain for the Tories - and it's probably expense-related. The Conservatives have taken Dewsbury, where sitting MP Shahid Malik had claimed for a massage chair. So he gained a chair, but lost a seat.
04.39 - That's our first Portillo moment of the election night.
![]()
04.36 - Jacqui Smith has gone. The former Home Secretary, who accidentally claimed expenses for two adult films her husband watched, has lost her Redditch seat to the Conservatives.
04.27 - It's official - Labour have held Luton South, meaning that Esther Rantzen has failed in her bid to become an MP.
04.25 - The West Midlands is looking very blue on the Interactive Election Results Map.
04.18 - See footage of voters being turned away from polling stations at 10pm.
04.12 - News from Simon Calder in Richmond Park - it's looking increasingly likely that Zac Goldsmith is going to win and beat Susan Kramer.
04.10 - Hammersmith result expected in 15 minutes. This is going to be a big one.
![]()
04.06 - Redcar swang to 21.8% to Lib Dems from Labour. Is that because the Labour candidate Vera Baird claimed two Christmas Trees on expenses?
04.00 - Does anyone have a good caption for this photo?
![]()
03.55 - Minsiter for the East Midlands Phil Hope has lost his seat to the Conservatives. Hope voluntarily agreed to return £41,709 to the taxpayer in the expenses scandal.
03.49 - Ed Balls says it's "looking tight" in his constituency of Morley & Outwood. Make of that what you will...
![]()
03.46 - Three gains for the Conservatives from Labour, one of them fairly significant. They've taken Crewe & Nantwich and Corby, but their victory in Carlisle is the most impressive.
03.42 - Labour have held on to Rochdale, despite the furore around Bigotgate.
03.41 - There's going to be a re-count at Ashfield, where just 182 votes separate Labour and the Liberal Democrats.
03.40 - Guido Fawkes asks: "Will we see Iain Dale run down Whitehall naked? A nation awaits with bated breath." Please God, no.
03.33 - We're hearing that the turn-out at Richmond Park, where Susan Kramer and Zac Goldsmith are going head to head, is a massive 76%. We think it's down to the fact that Nick Ferrari took his Battle Bus there last week!
03.30 - The Conservatives have gone ahead in seats for the first time tonight, edging ahead 104-101. They've gained 25 seats so far, but seem likely to fall a fair bit short of the 107 that they need to win.
03.28 - Reports suggest that Luton South is going to Labour. It seems that Esther Rantzen has split the Tory vote, letting in Labour.
03.26 - LBC reporter Declan Harvey says rumours are going around the Hammersmith count that Conservative poster boy Shaun Bailey is set to be beaten by Labour's Andy Slaughter. Will be a huge blow to the Tories if Bailey doesn't get into Parliament.
![]()
03.23 - A surprise Tory win, taking Newton Abbot from the Lib Dems. It's been a difficult night for Nick Clegg's party, but Gaby Hinsliff reckons things will improve when London results start filtering through.
03.20 - Ed Vazey has told his Twitter followers than he has held his Wantage seat. He was also tweeting about himself in the third person in Alan Shearer-style.
03.18 - Kelvin MacKenzie on LBC: "The Lib Dems - or Lib Dims as I call them - have fallen apart quicker than any party I've ever seen."
03.16 - Good hold by Labour. Oxford East, which turned blue due to boundary changes, has been held by Gordon Brown's party.
03.15 - More rumours from our band of bloggers: Labour are very worried about Dagenham & Rainham's Jon Cruddas, who came close in the deputy leaders poll in 2007.
03.13 - So, as we head slowly towards a hung parliament, which parties will be willing to form a coalition. Is it Lab/Lib or Con/Lib that is most likely. What do you think?
03.11 - Twitter rumours: Labour's Jim Fitzpatrick to hold Poplar, while they will also gain Beth Green from Respect, where George Galloway has moved to a different constituency.
03.06 - The biggest stories so far:
- Northern Ireland First Minister Peter Robinson losing his seat
- Lembit Opik being ousted
- Voters being turned away after long queues meant they couldn't vote in time.
03.04 - Five hours since polls closed and we've had 181 seats declared so far. With the Tories gaining some - but not all - of the marginals they wanted, so the latest prediction is for the Conservatives to be the biggest party, but not with an overall majorty.
03.00 - David Cameron says that a new government must get to the bottom of the voting problems.
02.58 - David Cameron has held on to his seat at Witney with over 33,000 votes. Comedy Terrorist Aaron Barschak managed to gain just 53 votes.
02.56 - Interesting rumours from Norwich South, where Charles Clarke is in trouble. The former Home Secretary seems to have held off the Green Party charge, but could still be overtaken by either the Conservatives or the Lib Dems.
![]()
02.54 - Another Conservative gain from Labour - Blackpool North & Cleverley.
02.52 - As incumbent MP in Hammersmith strolls into the count just before 3am, LBC reporter Declan Harvey asks: "Is this confidence, or are you trying to avoid the embarrassment of defeat?" His answer was that he just didn't want to hang around for six hours while not knowing what was going on.
02.50 - "All parties have had a bad night so far," says Iain Dale, as no party will be satisfied with their results. That's why we're heading towards a hung parliament, I guess.
02.45 - The Tories and Lib Dems have swapped seats. Whilst the Conservatives took Harrogate & Knaresborough, they lost Eastbourne to the Liberal Democrats. I'll leave it as a draw.
02.42 - Liberal Democrat Home Affairs spokesman Chris Huhne has held on to his seat at Eastleigh. There were rumours earlier in the night that he was out, but he held on with a majority of almost 3,500. Here's an all-too-rare yellow man for you.
![]()
02.39 - Our reporter calls the Basildon result "a tragedy for Labour", where they have lost their 1,000 majority and lost the seat to the Conservatives.
02.35 - Adam Holloway has extended his majority in Gravesham. This is the constituency that had the Labour candidate arrested in a traffic incident and the Lib Dem candidate who directed adult films!
02.31 - The first of LBC's key constituencies is about to declare. The results are about to be called in Gravesham, which has gone with the winning party every election but once since the war.
![]()
02.27 - The Lib Dem's Lembit Opik has lost his seat in Montgomerieshire. Who's going to save us from meteor showers now?
02.25 - Labour have held on to Stirling, the Conservative target seat number 104. That makes it virtually impossible for the Tories to get an overall majority.
02.24 - With so many results flying through now, keep an eye on the numbers above for the very latest details. We'll keep you up-to-date with all the key results here.
![]()
02.21 - Three more Conservative gains, winning Basildon, Vale of Glamorgan and Montgomerieshire from Labour. Some glimmers of hope for the Tories.
![]()
02.18 - Results coming in quickly now. Mostly holds but a couple of notable seats are Oliver Letwin holds his seat in West Dorset, whilst the Tories have taken Aberconwy from Labour.
02.09 - Simon Calder has just said Zac Goldsmith has refused to speak until after the count, which may not be until 6am. Iain thinks that's a sign that he's not going to win.
02.04 - Ben Bradshaw of Labour has held on to Exeter by 2,000 votes. The Tories' 6% swing was not enough.
02.02 - Our Interactive Election Results Map is starting to look very pretty with the constituencies called so far.
![]()
01.55 - A good result for the Tories, taking Loughborough from Labour. LBC's election expert believes this means the Conservatives will definitely be the biggest party, but falling short of an overall majority.
01.50 - Big swing for the Conservatives at Guildford, a seat that was a target for the Liberal Democrats. The Tories polled more than 50% of the vote.
01.47 - Looks like a bit of tactical voting in Tooting, as the Labour vote rises slightly and the Lib Dem vote fell by 5%. But this, along with the Vale of Clwyd result means it is increasingly unlikely that the Conservatives will get an overall majority.
01.44 - Massive hold for Labour as they keep Tooting. This was one of the constituencies that the Conservatives really needed to win to get an overall majority, but the swing was not as high as they needed.
01.42 - "It's not a bed of roses being leader of the British National Party," says Nick Griffin. I'll leave you to put your own punchline here.
01.38 - BNP leader Nick Griffin is live on LBC at the moment speaking with Iain Dale. it seems he's not going to unseat Barking MP Margaret Hodge, but he dismissed Iain's statement that their campaign had been a failure.
01.35 - Gordon Brown has won! In Kircaldy at least. But will we hear that line again at any stage tonight?
01.32 - Gordon Brown's count is about to be called. He looks confident that he'll get back in.
01.27 - This is a difficult election to predict. As Iain Dale says: "We're not seeing any national trend. This election is going to come down with who wins the most local battles."
01.25 - Labour have held Vale of Clwyd in Wales. Quite a disappointing one for the Conservatives, who thought they had a good chance of taking.
01.18 - Quite a few holds starting to come in. Labour have kept Darlington plus three Scottish seats, while the Lib Dems have 'held' the new seat of Thornbury & Yate.
01.11 - The Liberal Democrats have won their first seat, holding Torbay. It was one that the Tories wanted to win, but there was actually a slight swing further to the Lib Dems.
![]()
01.10 - Two more wins for the Conservatives. They have held Putney (with Justine Greening) and have won Battersea from Labour. And Torbay is just being announced...
01.07 - A bit of a shock over in Wales, as Plaid Cymru have gained Arfon from Labour. Plaid Cymru weren't expected to do that well, so it's a great result for them. It gives others a lead at this point. Can they hold out?
![]()
01.05 - Two Conservative wins at last - they have held Broxbourne and won Kingswood from Labour with a 9% swing.
01.03 - Downing Street sources have confirmed that Prime Minister Gordon Brown will try to form a coalition government in the event of a hung parliament.
01.00 - The big story so far is Northern Ireland First Minister Peter Robinson losing his seat in Belfast East. Three hours since the polls closed (much to the chagrin of some) and still the Conservatives and Lib Dems wait for their first seats.
00.56 - Reports from the band of bloggers suggests the Conservative majority in Battersea will be "a shock". Whether that means a lot, little, or not at all will all be officially revealed shortly.
00.52 - Labour have won another - Durham North. Those folk in the North East are very quick at counting, aren't they? If everyone was that speedy, we could have all of this wrapped up by 1.30.
00.49 - Peter Robinson of the DUP has lost his Belfast East seat to the Alliance - a sister party of the Lib Dems. It won't count in the numbers, but I'll give you a yellow man!
00.48 - Comedian/actor Alan Davies on Twitter: "Popping out to vote now, they'll probably be open - it's London innit? Everything's open late round here."
00.45 - Top blogger Guido Fawkes meanwhile is rather less compassionate: "Students, get out of bed earlier if you want to vote."
00.43 - Hackney's two Labour candidates Diane Abbott and Meg Hillier have launched an official complaint to the borough's returning officer protests from life-long Labour supporters that their votes had been ignored. Gordon Brown says he is "very concerned".
00.41 - The DUP have won Antrim North - it's Ian Paisley Jr that won. The 'others' have moved up into second place.
00.40 - Stephen Pound is mixing metaphors all over the place on LBC, saying: "We were climbing a mountain, but that mountain hasn't fallen on top of us."
00.38 - Over in Northern Ireland, Sinn Fein have held Tyrone West. I'm afraid I don't have a Sinn Fein logo to brighten things up. Sorry.
00.37 - The Green Party are hopeful of a big result tonight. Leader Caroline Lucas is favourite to take the seat of Brighton Pavillion.
00.35 - Nerves in Hammersmith for Conservative candidate Shaun Bailey, live on LBC now. The former youth worker is very highly-thought of, but faces a real battle to beat Andy Slaughter in the newly-formed constituency.
00.30 - TV is showing David Cameron's car heading to his count from home. It reminds me a little of the OJ car chase, but rather less exciting.
00.22 - It's not 100% official yet, but there are reports that we have the first gain change of the night. Sky are reporting that the Lib Dems have won Edinburgh North from Labour.
00.16 - A reminder of the major exit poll: Con 305, Lab 255, Lib Dem 61. That would give us a hung parliament.
00.14 - One voter is quoted as saying "I went at 6pm and there was a queue. So I came back at 9pm and didn't get to vote." Maybe they should have stayed at the vote at 6pm. That's how queues work.
00.10 - Two of the guests in Iain Dale's studio are Helen and Ollie from the Answer Me This podcast, who claim they can answer any question. First up: What happens if a candidate dies on election day?
00.05 - There are *a lot* of people in the studio right now. So that's what a band of bloggers looks like! See them in our webcams.
00.03 - Some polling stations ran out of ballot papers due to the "exceptional voter turn-out". Sounds like a quick trip to Snappy Snaps was in order to print a few more. For what it's worth, the Electoral Commission say it would be undertaking a "thorough review".
00.00 - Press Association sources are saying the Conservatives are set to gain Battersea from Labour.
23.59 - A great opening to the Election coverage from Nick Ferrari. He's off for a few hours kip before returning at 6am, so Iain Dale, Gaby Hinsliff and their band of bloggers (or bevvy of bloggers as Nick is calling them) are on in between.
23.56 - Lord Mandelson thinks we're in for a cliff-hanger. He said: "Of course, many people have turned away from the Labour Party but what they haven't done is to fly into the arms of David Cameron's Tories."
23.49 - LBC reporter Dan Freedman tells Nick Ferrari that Barking's UKIP candidate, former boxing promoter Frank Moloney is going to complain to the Electoral Commission after Labour's Margaret Hodge was seen in the counting area - something that is not allowed under election rules.
23.46 - These stories about voters being turned away from polling stations are going to run and run. northsixteen on Facebook has taken this photo of 30 people being turned away at 10pm in Stoke Newington in North-East London. But as Andrew Pierce says: "The law says you can't vote after 10pm. These people should have voted earlier."
23.42 - 3-0.Julie Elliot has held Sunderland Central for Labour. Supporters in the crowd were singing "3-0, 3-0, 3-0".
23.40 - LBC has reporters all over the country at the most interesting constituencies around. Even our presenters are taking part. Travel Clinic presenter Simon Calder is our reporter in Richmond Park!
23.34 - Esther Rantzen is currently speaking with Nick Ferrari on LBC. She is standing as an independent candidate in Luton South - where the controversial Margaret Moran is the former MP having claimed for dry-rot in her partner's home.
23.26 - Second result is in and Labour have won Sunderland West. Cue wild celebrations in the crowd. The Labour vote was down 16% and Tories up 7%, which goes along with the Exit Poll figures on swing.
23.23 - Scotland Yard has told LBC around 60 people held a sit down protest outside that polling station in Hackney because they were turned away from voting. Some polling stations in Lewisham stayed open 30 minutes late to allow those queuing to vote.
23.17 - Iain Dale's band of bloggers are in the building. The LBC newsroom has been taken over by an army of Mac-wielding pundits, who will stop at nothing to get you the results before anyone else.
23.09 - Have you had a look at our Interactive Map? The first constituency has turned red!
23.07 - Things are buzzing here in LBC Towers. You can see what's going on in the studio with the LBC Webcams, but also see Behind The Scenes at LBC in our photo gallery.
23.06 - The exit poll has already been revised slightly. The Conservatives are down to 305, with Labour on 255 and the Lib Dems on 61. Iain Dale reckons that LD figure could hit 90 by the end of the night.
23.04 - Hundreds of people were unable to vote at polling stations in Hackney as they were still queuing when the ballot boxes closed at 10pm.
22.58 - The swing from Labour to the Conservatives in Houghton and Sunderland South was 8.4%. If that swing is replicated across the country, it will give the Tories a small majority.
22.55 - One-nil, says Labour spin doctor Charlie Whelan!
22.51 - A lead for the Labour Party! Bridget Phillipson has held Houghton and Sunderland South in the first constituency to call their results.
22.50 - The first results are in!
22.47 - If you're wondering what the politicians and pundits are thinking, check out what the experts are saying.
22.46 - Tessa Jowell reminding people it's certainly not over for Gordon Brown yet. In the event of a hung parliament, it falls to the Prime Minister - and not the largest party - to try to form a ruling government.
22.39 - Arrowsmith rules out the possibility of giving Nick Clegg a part in one of her films should today not go as planned!
22.37 - Nick's talking to Anna Arrowsmith now. She's the Liberal Democrat candidate for Gravesham whose day job is as a director of adult films!
22.35 - Meanwhile, Gaby Hinsliff, who is on with Iain Dale from midnight says: "lord @iaindale just announced we're going to have webcams on in the studio. *hurriedly revises plans to broadcast in my jimjams*"
22.31 - Good point from @ashley_brown on the Lib Dems' poor performance in the exit poll: "The Lib Dems have good support with students, many of whom have voted by post."
22.29 - Ken Livingstone consoles Tessa Jowell with the line "Oh well, at least we've still got the Olympics!"
22.20 - All eyes are on Sunderland, traditionally the first constituency to announce their results. A current Labour seat, but boundary changes have made it more marginal than before.
22.18 - One of the highest voter turnouts is expected. Even these two went to vote!
22.14 - We want your views on how you think the night is going to go. Email us, text us on 84850 or Tweet us @lbc973.
22.10 - Tessa Jowell, Andrew Pierce and Olly Grender are among Nick's guests in the studio - and London Minister Jowell insists it can still be a great night for Labour.
22.06 - If those numbers came true, it would be a very disappoiting result for the Liberal Democrats. They were expecting a big bounce on the back of Nick Clegg's surge of popularity, but this would have them having less seats than in 2005.
22.03 - As Nick Ferrari starts broadcasting, we have now turned on the LBC Studio Webcams. Watch Nick as he starts the analysis with top guests coming in throughout the show.
22.00 - Exit Poll predicts Hung Parliament
Conservatives 307 | Labour 255 | Lib Dem 59
The 10pm exit poll predicts it will be a hung parliament. The Sky/BBC/ITV poll suggests the Conservatives will get 307 seats, 19 short of an overall majority.
21.55 - Nick Ferrari has headed down to the studio. He'll be on in five minutes with two hours of the early analysis of Election Night.
21.41 - A quick reminder, each party needs to reach 326 seats to gain an overall majority. Otherwise we're in the hung parliament zone. And if you're wondering what all that means, try this Hung Parliament Q&A.
21.36 - If you want results from the election first, then LBC is the place to be. Iain Dale's band of bloggers will be in contact with the key people from around the country and will be bringing you results before the BBC, before Sky... and often before they are even announced!
21.28 - As soon as the polls close at 10pm, the biggest exit poll in history will be announced. What will it say? In the closest election in decades, this will be the first sign of how the night might go.
21.00 - Just one hour until polls close and all the fun starts.

20.50 - And they'll be hoping not to see too many of these. If they do, it may not be their night.

20.20 - Then Nick Ferrari will be back after a brief kip with his Breakfast Show, an hour earlier than usual from 6am, live from his Election Battle Bus at Parliament Square.
