Still in for Steve ....

Isn't it time that Spring has sprung?

With Steve having still lost his voice, I had the pleasure of your company this morning.
David Cameron has spoken and to be honest most of you seem not to be excited one way or the other by his speech. Perhaps it will get more exciting when Gordon Brown actually calls for a General Election. At the moment it's all a bit nebulous.

News that bio fuels are just as bad for the environment as diesel does not come as much of a surprise to me. If we were really worried about the environment perhaps we would have a difficult conversation about population growth. Yet taxation has been applied to fuel, planes and packaging and you know the rest. What I would like is some simple guidance and efforts to cut waste and then perhaps tackle to socially difficult aspects of our lives as and when an alternative has been found and scientific evidence is at least more convincing.

25,000 council jobs are in peril. Isn't it about time we took a massive hatchet to council, government and other useless jobs? By all means if you want to have such things then pay for them. However if it is taxpayers' money a little more respect and careful use of something that is in scarce supply would be a good idea. I am bored with useless jobs attracting massive salaries and also with amazing benefits. We can't afford it any more. Now don't get me wrong. There are some super people working for national and local government. Yet there is a lot of waste. It's the waste that should be prevented.

Spring hasn't sprung yet. I am still waiting to see a daff appear!

And I do apologise if you live in Lambeth. Apparently that is the angriest borough in London.

Have a good Monday…
