"Ten Years Of Lean"

Posted by James Max on June 14, 2009 at 19:23PM

Our top economics pundit predicts a decade of troubled times for businees and for your pocket.
Justin Urquart Stewart from 7 Investment www.7im.co.uk joined me. Although we discussed many of the big issues of the day, his assessment of our economic position for the next decade is perhaps the most important aspect. A decade “of lean” he said. And I don’t disagree. Although we will see ups and downs in the cycle the growth and euphoria we have seen over the past 15 years is unlikely to be repeated – for a while at least.

I was also joined by Richard Donnell, director of Research at Hometrack who said that repossessions could rise to 60,000 for the next year but chances are we wont see as many repossessions as during the last recession in the early 90’s… And also Gurvir Singh Birang joined me. Don’t put your head in the sand if you are in some form of financial difficulty. Take advice and don’t ignore the problem. For more details about West London Law go to www.westlondonlaw.com

I’ll be back next Saturday for Breakfast with more Business Matters on Sunday. If you can’t wait that long the new podcasts are published. These haven't been broadcast on the radio… 100% new materil. Hear from Robert H Frank talking economics (seriously, a good listen) and from Jane Slade, property editor of the Sunday Express on “Buy It Sell It Rent It”.
