It’s all gone a bit political. The Lib Dems at their Spring Conference – they have announced their new slogan. “Change that works for you. Building a Fairer Britain”. Snappy isn’t it? After the Tory’s “Vote for Change” and Labour’s “A Future Fair for All” – it’s a bit of a long winded sit on the fence. Yet now a hung parliament is looking increasingly likely so their viewpoint and stand on various issues is probably more important than before. Yet can you take the party seriously and do their politicise stack up to scrutiny?
I also asked you whether or not you think anyone should be above the law as increasingly there are sections of society who seem to think they are.
James Hartigan joined me to discuss the movies of the month. His recommendation is “The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo” and for more details go to www.lbc.co.uk/filmclub
And on the subject of political funding – everyone seems to be getting up in arms about Labour’s £11 million from Unite. And then everyone got upset about the millions from Lord Ashcroft into the Tory party. Fact is our system is rather odd and there are some very big donors with vested interests. So should the system be changed? As long as we know who is putting what money where, I think it’s actually a system that sounds wrong but is the best of many options…
Oh. One in 10 children think the Queen invented the telephone. Ophelia rang in to say it was Alexander Graham Bell. Every day is a school day!
