Iain Duncan Smith joined me to put the record straight on his proposals to encourage more mobility in the workforce. Whilst I see his views and I can recognise when the opposition have a pop at him, the clear problem here is how to implement the ideas and aspirations. The benefits system is so complex; where every claimant has a different requirement, inevitably there are going to be problems. I just wonder if there will ever be a time if the system is both fair and cost effective.
