Margaret from Beeston in Leeds. She rings in from time to time and shouts at me. And Terry Waite called in once and said how much he’d been enjoying the discussion.
What do you love about late night talk radio?
The intimacy and the fact that people are listening rather than doing

Re-acquainting myself with Steve Allen and filling in when he’s away

George Michael and Elton John – they are two of my heroes. And Madonna.
How do you feel about working on the same station as Ken Livingstone?
Absolutely fantastic because I believe in democracy and free speech and Ken is one of the funniest guys I’ve ever met…
Do you have any hidden talents?
Archery. I shoot the longbow. I was the under 16’s Surrey champion.
