Just when you thought it was over, the MPs expenses story drags on. Today, partly censored lists were published showing MPs blatantly flaunting our money. But why not the full list? I don't buy all this security nonsense. And to cap it all off David Cameron has admitted that he wrongly claimed, but will be paying back £947 of our money. The lists reveal all sorts of ridiculous claims, from £1,645 for a 'duck island', to £10 for a "milk frother" and even £47 George Osbourne claimed for two copies of a DVD of his own speech on 'Value for Taxpayers Money'. On top of this 32 MPs claimed the full £400 a month food allowance…for an entire year. That's £153,600, and I say enough is enough! I questioned three MPs about how they are going to sort this mess out.
And a school in Devon has banned parents from taking pictures of children at sports day. Why? Do we really live in an age where we are over-protective of our kids to this extent? Or should we think about things like this? I mean half those photos will appear online where anyone can see them... Or doesn't it matter as long as we know our kids are safe?
I'll be back at 4pm tomorrow. In the meantime, download my podcast at lbc.co.uk
