I witnessed history in the making today as Tony Blair appeared before the Iraq Inquiry. The Former Prime Minister insists he was right to take action to stop Saddam Hussein - even if the weapons of mass destruction turned out not to exist. During his appearance, he made it clear that it was always his intention to join the Americans if it came to war. My question was, should we always follow America in War, no matter what? Some interesting opinions came out today and we got reaction on the Inquiry from top commentators including Associate Editor of the Mirror, Kevin Maguire. Columnist for the Independent on Sunday and Tony Blair's Biographer, John Rentoul, told me the appearance went as well as could have been expected - even though we didn't really learn anything new...
