Jamie Oliver: Gove Guilty Of 'Abuse Of Policy'
Tuesday 27th November 2012
Jamie Oliver has criticised Education Secretary Michael Gove over school meals.
The chef - who has campaigned to improve school meals for several years - is unhappy with the decision to take away nutritional standards in academies.
He told LBC 97.3's Nick Ferrari that removing these minimum standards against expert advice is "a complete abuse of policy".
Jamie said: "Britain is still the most unhealthy country in Europe and at the frontline of the fight against bad health is where your children eat.
"A good-value bang for your buck for the British public is where your children go to school 190 days of the year.
"For him to take those standards away, i believe, is a complete abuse of policy.
"If I showed you the people in support of keeping this - the best of the best from cardiologists, the foundation - you would say 'who would dare argue about that?'"
