Yesterday was the day from hell, technology breaking down, robberies, understudies. I was scheduled to see CALENDER GIRLS but Julie Goodyear wasn’t playing so after digestive problems with my Persian meal I headed back to the flat.
On with the pj’s, on with the kettle, on with the Mac, off with the undergarments, off with trainers and off I went.
This morning could not have been more different. I left the flat having done two hours recording on the second of my audio blogs. The first ALL BY MOUTH is out soon and the second RISK IT FOR A BISCUIT will be out a little later.
The mic worked, the script was re-written, the voice held out and I was thrilled to get it out of the way.
I set off down the riverside walk, the sun on the Thames, the few leaves left gently shaking in the breeze when I realised I didn’t have by BAFTA card with me. So I walked all the way back to the flat, woke up the old git, gave him a kiss and left for the second time. Took the 170 to Victoria, the tube to Green park, the Piccadilly line to Leicester Square and here I am with your Wednesday show.

Whilst on the tube this morning I ‘newsdropped’ the paper next to me. When I picked up a METRO page three featured some leggy ‘birds’ knocking seven bells out of each other. Female footballers caught in the act of punching, pulling, shoving and bending not anything like Beckham.
I also discovered that the wife of a bloke I’ve know for ever is the sister of David Haye.l I wonder if he’ll give her any of his estimated £20million.
MIKE ROBINSON, owns the HARWOOD PUB in Fulham, he talked to me about his winning ways and his signature dish which, believe it or not, is the humble Scotch Egg, which have been voted our favourite bar snack.
And finally COLIN HAY, an American citizen who has lived here for twenty years, brought in his instrument and just for a few minutes brought us some AMERICAN SUNSHINE – the title of his latest album.
