28 days of detention

Posted by Andrew Pierce on June 27, 2010 at 13:48PM

Do we still need to have 28 day terror suspect detention, why are we still giving foreign aid and Daisy McAndrew joins Andrew in the studio
Have the lib dems sold out already. They campaigned against Vat but its gone up from 17.5 to 20 per cent. They also said a maximum limit for the detention of terrorist suspects should be 14 days – yet the home secretary announced, in a carefully concealed written answer, that it would be maintained at 28 days for at least another six months., Is 28 days too much or should it be extended even further bearing in mind the terrorist atrocity of july 7, 2005. And a Budget which is dictating 25 per cent cuts across the board in spending, with the exception of health, has also exempted the £8 billion overseas aid budget. Why ? We are giving £250 million to India which is developing a space programme, nuclear weapon, and expanding its naval fleet – when we are cutting our own., Doesnt charity begin at home especially when the welfare and benefits budget is to be cut by £12 billion., Daisy McAndrew from  ITN reviewed the papers. The Sunday Telegraph highlighted research which shows that the majority of street crime, involving knives and guns, is carried out by black men. So why aren’t more people willing to talk about it. And what is the answer. And come on England. I’m watching the match from a barbecue – or behind a tree. We are going to win. Trust me.
