LBC is delighted to announce a new programme schedule to take London’s biggest conversation forward into the spring of 2011.
Top chef Gino D’Acampo joins the line-up to host a new live show from his kitchen, Ken Livingstone and David Mellor will be teaming up for a new Saturday show and there are new weekday shows for Petrie Hosken, Iain Dale and Nick Abbot.
Joining the presenting team is one of the UK’s leading and best loved chefs. Broadcasting live from his kitchen, Gino D’Acampo will bring his Italian charm, expertise and enthusiasm to LBC 97.3 as he serves up his brand new show every Sunday from 3pm. LBC Live In Gino’s Kitchen offers mouth-watering ideas, delicious recipes, the best food and drink advice and great conversation, making it the ultimate Sunday afternoon treat!
Also at the weekend, the former Mayor of London Ken Livingstone teams up with former Conservative cabinet minister David Mellor for a new Saturday morning programme (10am – 1pm). The show follows on from the pair’s hugely successful partnership during this year’s General Election campaign.
Petrie Hosken joins the daytime line-up to present the weekday afternoon show (1pm – 4pm). Since first joining LBC 97.3 in 2001, Petrie has proved to be a popular, insightful and authoritative presenter. LBC 97.3 also welcomes prolific blogger Iain Dale who joins London’s biggest conversation for his first regular broadcasting position. Iain takes over from Petrie to host the weekday evening show (7pm – 10pm)
Nick Abbot starts a new Friday late show, in addition to his highly popular Saturday night show, in which he’s added 46,000 new listeners over the last three months. This means that late nights on LBC 97.3 are now shared between Nick Abbot (Friday and Saturday, 10pm to 1am) and Clive Bull (Sunday - Thursday, 10pm - 1am).
Finally, Saturday and Sunday evenings feature a true showbiz insider – Richard Arnold. The former GMTV presenter has already started his new entertainment shows offering listeners exclusive insider news and opinion from the world of showbiz.
LBC 97.3 Programme Director Jonathan Richards said: "These schedule changes demonstrate the steady evolution of London’s biggest conversation. We are constantly looking to bolster our line-up with quality broadcasters who are knowledgeable, opinionated and compelling to listen to."
