A year on from the death of the soldier at Woolwich, Nick was furious that Greenwich Council rejected calls for a tribute. Local MP, Labour's Nick Raynsford was also against the idea, saying he feared it would become a shrine for extremists.

Thanks to the help of Nick Ferrari and his listeners, 25,000 people signed a petition started by campaign leader Lorna Taylor, whose son served with Lee in Afghanistan.

Following a meeting with Lee's mother Lyn Rigby, it has been confirmed that a memorial will be commissioned.

Designs have not yet been confirmed, but Ms Rigby is hoping for something more than a plaque and work is on-going about the inscription.

It will be situated outside the Woolwich Barracks, close to where Fusilier Rigby was murdered.
