LISTEN: Is Spurs' Use Of The Y-Word Offensive?

Tottenham Hotspur fans' use of the phrase "Yid Army" is offensive and should be stopped, according to David Baddiel.

tottenham flagsSpurs fans claim they use the word - offensive to many Jews - as a term of endearment and the club released a statement saying "the distinguishing factor is the intent with which it is used, ie if it is used with the deliberate intention to cause offence."

But speaking to LBC 97.3's James Whale, Jewish football fan David Baddiel said it is offensive and must be stopped.

Afterwards, James got a call from Matthew in Edgeware, himself a Jewish Spurs fan, who wanted to defend his right to use the term at the football.
