LISTEN: Smacking Ban Led To Riots - Lammy
A London MP has told LBC 97.3 that the ban on smacking children helped lead to the summer riots.
David Lammy, MP for North Tottenham, said he wants a return to Victorian values, when he told Iain Dale that says working-class parents need to be able to discipline their children physically to deter them from joining gangs.
Mr Lammy told LBC 97.3 that he was smacked as a child and it taught him respect, adding that he had smacked his own two sons.
