London's Best Cocktail Bars
Finding a bar in London that serves 'cocktails' is not really that hard, finding one that serves perfectly mixed sprits by experienced staff, with an ideal drinking atmosphere to enjoy these cocktails is a harder task. Shaken, stirred, on the rock, virgin or dirty - no matter what you like to order at a bar, there is a cocktail in London for you.
We have compiled a list of the top bars, as recommended by the LBC listeners, of the best cocktail bars in the capital.
Freud's Bar , Covent Garden - "Despite it's diminutive size Freud is possibly my favourite bar in London. Hidden under a kitchenware shop, down a metal fire escape, past a smelly toilet lies drinking perfection. The great cocktail menu is extensively listed on a chalk board over the bar and a decent selection of bottled beer is available for the unadventurous." Adam from Nunhead
Sosho , Hoxton - "If you have been to Match in Farringdon you will find Sosho follows the same concept, mood lightening, cocktails with trendy upbeat music. The difference apart from the location is that Sosho is considerably bigger and has a bit more natural light in thanks largely to the skylight. Best to come here after 9pm to get some atmosphere but when it is busy it has a good vibe." Stuart from Crouch End
Cuba Libre and Bar Havana , Islington - "Cuba Libre is a great
independent Cuban bar in Angel. There is no better way to spend an
evening than making your way through the extensive cocktail list."
Katie from Camden
$ Grills and Martinis , Clerkenwell - "We visited $ (despite the chintzy exterior) for a quick drink on a Saturday afternoon. They do fantastic martinis and it was pleasant just relaxing in the comfort of the downstairs bar. It has a very boudoir feel actually and we came away very relaxed, if not a little drunk." Alex from Farringdon
Lounge Lover , Shoreditch - "The best bar in London? Well, it's certainly better than a Weatherspoons. Fantastic decor, beautiful lights, and amazing cocktails all conspire to make this converted garage into one of the best bars the capital has to offer. Don't forget your cheque book..." Melissa from Chelsea
Jewel Bar , Soho - "Its impressive on the outside and just as impressive on the inside. This is very much a date night place, with drinks being quite expensive but they do nice cocktails." Anne from Welford
Cubana , Southwark - "Juicy tropical fruit cocktails and smoothies are freshly made here with a choice of fruits they are incredibly tasty. The Latin chefs prepare lovely char-grilled dishes and salsas." Laura from Clapham Common
