London's best pubs for beer
Fancy trying out a range of beers, but aren't sure where to go? LBC picks our favourite bars for drinking beer and real ale.
Best Beer Pub for Continental Beers
Lowlander
This Belgian bar is the mecca for fans of foreign beers. The bar is stocked high with a wide variety of different beers from all over the world including a good selection of wheat and fruit beers, if you fancy something a little bit different.
Best Real Ale Selection
Market Porter
Can often be a little crowded as people relax after a day of searching around (or working at) Borough Market, but it's worth finding an empty corner. It's got a terrific Real Ale section, including Barnsley Gold, Kelham Island Pale Rider and Titanic New World.
Best All Round World Beer Selection
The Rake
Owned by Utobeer, who sell imported beer in Borough Market, the range of beer from around the world at this pub is simply sensational - 130 bottled beers and two pumps that have different beers every day. Pricey, but worth it.
Best Traditional London Pub
Ye Old Mitre
This place is a bit of a secret - and all the better for it. It's a lovely pub with a fascinating history (it's still owned by the Cambridgeshire Police Force)... and obviously, great beer.
