Make Sex Last Longer
It’s a question we get emails and texts about so much… How can he last longer in bed? Maybe he wants more pleasure… maybe she wants to climax several times… or maybe both of you simply want to make love all night. So what’s the secret? Here are my hints and tips.* Don’t over stimulate him at the start of sex so he doesn’t get aroused too soon
* Use lots of lube, though not the stimulating sort
* Use a condom (or even two!)
* Avoid using anaesthetic gels – they’ll anaesthetise her as well
* Give him a hand or mouth orgasm first, then wait a while – she can take a few climaxes while you’re waiting; second time around he’ll take longer
* Work out some signals between you so that when he senses himself coming, you can both stop to give him time to slow down
* If he’s on the point of coming, squeeze his penis firmly between thumb and forefinger just under the head and squeeze
* Or, squeeze at the base of his penis for about 30 seconds
* Take breaks – intercourse for a few minutes, then back to kissing and fondling, then back to intercourse; also makes his climax more intense! (If you’ve got a weekend to spare, hold him back during the whole two days for an orgasm he’ll never forget.
* Just sometimes, don’t even try to hold him back, but let him go for it as quickly as he wants – the fact he can do that occasionally will make it easier to hold back when he needs to
* Bring her to the very edge of orgasm before he enters, so that even if he doesn’t last long she’s more likely to climax
* If he always comes very quickly (less than five minutes, every time), he may be unable to recognise the signs of approaching orgasm; to relearn the signals, he should practise ‘starting and stopping’ as he masturbates (then as she brings him off… then during intercourse.)
* If he always comes immediately he penetrates, or even before, then there may be an emotional problem. Consider sexual counselling – for numbers of useful organisations, see our helpline list – CLICK HERE
