Woman On Mobility Scooter Punched In Face In East London

A 22-year-old man has been arrested after two serious assaults on elderly victims in Newham.
Just before midday on Friday 16th May, a 75-year-old woman was travelling along the pavement on her mobility scooter when she was approached by a man and punched in the face several times.
The victim was left with a broken jaw following the attack.
A 34-year-old man was arrested on 24th May onsuspicion of ABH. He has since been bailed to return to a north London police station in early July.
On Friday 20th June at around 8.40am a 71-year-old man was punched and kicked in the face. He was taken to hospital and is recieving treatment for sever bruising and lacerations to his face.
Both attacks took place in Grangewood Street and were apparently unprovoked.
Police have arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of GBH in connection with the two incidents.
