Man Forced Off Train To Withdraw Cash For Thieves

Tuesday 13th May 2014

Police are appealing for help in tracing two men after a 22-year-old was robbed on a train at Victoria station.

Today, they have released photos of the men they think may have crucial information.Do you know these men? Do you know these men? Picture: British Transport Police

The 22-year-old victim boarded the 10:52pm train to Victoria from Faversham on April 17th.

At 11:15pm, two men got on at Gillingham station and sat next to him.

One of the men claimed to have a knife, and pressed it against the victim's legs while the other man took property out of his bag. The victim then tried to get off a Bromley South station, but the pair kept him there against his will.

When the train reached Victoria, they marched him to a cash point in the station and forced him to withdraw a large sum of cash from the ATM. They then fled with the money.

DC Mahoney from the British Transport Police said: "Thankfully robberies like this are incredibly rare on the railway network and the public can be assured we are doing all we can to catch those responsible."

"This was understandably a very frightening ordeal for the victim and I would urge anyone who recognises the men to get in touch."
