Man Given Life For Football Fan Murder In Camden
Thursday 29th November 2012
A man who killed a Liverpool football fan at a London nightclub has been jailed for life.
29-year-old Paul Beck has been told he'll serve a minimum of 18 years after admitting the murder of Alex Jarmay at a bar in Camden in February.
Alex Jarmay, pictured, was stabbed in February while drinking with his brother ahead of the Carling Cup final against Cardiff.
The judge said using knives against another person - even in perceived self-defence - is wholly unacceptable.
Judge Gerald Gordon told Beck: "As a result of your actions, that young man lost his life - a tragedy for him, his family and friends.
"You decided to take the knife to defend yourself.
"There is no justification for doing that. The taking of knives for any use against another human being, even in perceived self-defence, is wholly unacceptable."
