Thursday 14th August 2014

A man was spotted wandering London wearing a suit made entirely out of stitched together chicken skin.

If you were feeling a bit peckish for chicken yesterday then this might have put you off.

It seems that chicken is the new black as a man wearing a suit made of stitched together chicken skin was spotted walking the streets of London.

Thankfully this wasn’t a homage to the Buffalo Bill skin-suit from Silence Of The Lambs, or the result of losing a bet, but an artistic statement.

The chicken-skin decked man, Lewis G. Burton, was sewn into the suit by Victor Ivanov.

The duo are part of an art project called FLESH which: “examines the relationship between identity and its commodification through social medias.”

“By creating an entity from chicken skin, a commodified object in itself, the artists are then introducing it into the social sphere, both online and offline.  This abnormality creates a stimulus for the general public to interact with, by allowing them to adopt FLESH as part of their cyber identity.”

The duo have plans to expand their range of chicken-skinned products to include clocks, pillow covers, iPad sleeves, throw blankets, dummies, wallpaper and some charming necklaces.
