Man Who Walked Into Tube Station Half Naked Jailed

Tuesday 1st July 2014

A man has been jailed for four weeks after walking into a London Underground station naked from the waist down.

Christopher Dove from Kent told staff at Piccadilly Circus his trousers had been stolen and he had gone to them for help.

The 39 year old from Strood in Kent attempted to talk to a member of staff before sitting on the floor of the station. British Transport Police found him still sat down with excrement smeared over the lower half of his body and the floor.

The incident took place at 7.25am on 25th May 2014. Police described what happened as 'unpleasant'.

Dove was sentenced to four weeks imprisonment after pleading guilty to outraging public indecency

He was also found guilty of breaching a community order made in April but no action was taken.

Pc Chris Oliver said: "This was an unpleasant case for officers to deal with.

"More importantly, Dove's actions were grossly offensive to members of staff and passengers at Piccadilly Circus station.

"Such behaviour will not be tolerated anywhere on the rail network and this case should serve to highlight our determination to deal with any cases of indecency."
