Mayor Hires Crack Team To Develop Boris Island

Monday 11th February 2013

Boris Johnson's says he's appointed a "mighty" team of experts to help develop his plan for a hub-airport in the Thames Estuary.

Architects Pascall and Watson who were behind Heathrow's Terminal 5 and St Pancras International station are among those working on the project.

The Mayor of London opposes a third runway at Heathrow - preferring the new airport in the Thames Estuary (nicknamed Boris Island ) or possible expansion at Stansted instead.

Boris is due to give evidence on aviation strategy to the Transport Committee later.
