Minchin Jesus Song Cut From Ross TV Show

Friday 23rd December 2011

A song by comedian Tim Minchin has been cut out of the Jonathan Ross Christmas Special after bosses feared it would offend Christians.

The song, entitled Woody Allen Jesus, was in the final edit of the show after being cleared by the show's producers and lawyers, but director Peter Fincham demanded that it was removed.

In the song, the Aussie comedian compares Jesus to Woody Allen as he was short, Jewish, philosophical and a bit hesitant. He also said Jesus's miracles were 'what Derren Brown does best and compares the Virgin Mary to a lizard.

On his blog, Minchin complained that Fincham was scared of "the small minority of Brits who believe they have a right to go through life protected from anything that challenges them in any way".

Minchin then released the song for his fans to see and judge for themselves.

Do you think the song is funny or offensive? Have your say in the box below.
