More about James Max

James Max close-up smallJames Max joined LBC 97.3 in April 2006. He’s now the weekend Breakfast presenter and is on air every Saturday and Sunday between 7 – 10am.

Lively and engaging conversation is what James enjoys. Current affairs, politics, business, lifestyle and sometimes even showbiz news will pepper his show. Rarely without an opinion, his shows are lively and engaging. But James wasn’t always a broadcaster.

Living in West London, James has always lived and worked in our capital city. He’s a qualified chartered surveyor and spent 15 years working in commercial real estate, investment banking and private equity. He likes to think that as a talk radio host, he’s done quite a few jobs people love to hate people for. Commercial property (read estate agent), investment banking (need one say more!), private equity (read asset stripper) and of course his epic performance as a semi-finalist in the very first series of The Apprentice (read TV reality show wannabe!). Perhaps to complete the set he’ll become a politician or even a traffic warden!

In addition to his Breakfast shows, James can regularly be heard on the station covering for his colleagues and as an expert imparting his knowledge and experience to explain some of the more complex economic and business goings on.

His first radio appearances were on LBC News 1152 back in 2005 when he regularly reviewed the newspapers. Going on to present business updates and his own show on TalkSPORT, James has become an accomplished broadcaster. He’s often asked for his views and opinions and is a regular pundit on the Jeremy Vine Show. As well as being a regular newspaper reviewer on Sky News.

He has presented an episode of Dispatches on Channel 4, is often called upon as the property and business expert for ITV1’s Daybreak. He writes and presents monthly podcasts for Property Week Magazine and is a columnist for The Negotiator.

As a public speaker, James has given keynote speeches, hosted conferences and events, presided over charitable functions and auctions and conducted many awards ceremonies at some of the finest venues in London and around the country.

Away from the spotlight he’s an avid follower of music and theatre, loves film and entertainment. With a particular interest in online media and technology, travelling, skiing and tennis he pretends to be a bit sporty. He also has a basset fauve called Barnaby, drives an Aston Martin but also has a GWiz so he can pretend about caring for the environment.
