What? Augmented reality iPhone app, directing you to the nearest Tube station.
How much? £1.19
How does it work?
It uses the compass on the phone to work out where you are and then shows you in which directions the nearest tube stations are. It overlays on the screen of the camera exactly which direction the station is. So from here, Leicester Square station is 0.2miles away, while Tottenham Court Road is 0.92miles north from here.
The reason I believe this will take off is this: imagine you are on holiday. You could have an app which you held up to, say, The Colosseum and it would give you information on what you're looking at. This could be so useful.
Very useful, works well and looks lovely.
