An eyewitness described how the devastating terror attack on London Bridge last night felt like Westminster was repeating all over again.

The man told LBC how ordinary members of the public acted “heroically” in the wake of Saturday’s attack, which has so far claimed the lives of seven innocent people.

A white van ploughed into pedestrians on London Bridge at about 10pm, three men, who were later shot dead by police, then got out and stabbed people in nearby Borough Market.

Back in March, four people were killed when Khalid Masood drove his Hyundai car into people on Westminster Bridge before stabbing PC Keith Palmer inside the grounds of the Palace of Westminster.

Giving his reaction to LBC, the man said: “It wasn’t only on my mind, a cab driver going in the other direction wound down his window and shouted: ’It’s Westminster all over again’.”

Describing the moments shortly after the attack, the eyewitness continued: “Armed police arrived, jumped out of a 4x4 with machine guns and ran southwards on the bridge.

“When we arrived on the bridge [the injured] were being looked after by just members of the public that were comforting them and trying to keep them warm as well.

“I saw people with clothes draped over them and the emergency services were there very quickly.”
