The man named as the chief suspect in an acid attack on two cousins in east London has handed himself in to police.

John Tomlin, 24, has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

He walked into an east London police station on Sunday and remains in custody.

Resham Khan and Jameel Muhktar suffered "life-changing" injuries when a corrosive substance was squirted on to them through their car windows on Ms Khan's 21st birthday.

Last week, LBC revealed that London sees three acid attacks every week. A total of 83 cases have been recorded by the Met police so far this year.
